I have a small dark corner that has a chair and a bookcase. There isn't enough room for a traditional wall light with a shade. I needed a light that can be tucked away when not needed and that can be directed over my shoulder when needed to read or directed onto the bookcase behind the chair when needed. This is perfect for both uses. It is well made and heavy and still stylish. The light while small, is bright and dimmable. I would buy 2 more if they weren't so expensive!
