The Kilner Square Glass Clip Top Jar with Rubber Seal, 1 Litre - Additional Key Product Features: 1) Unlike plastic, Kilner jars don’t absorb flavours and odours (see thumbnail image for various benefits of glass vs. plastic). 2) Can be easily sterilised in order to maximise hygiene. 3) Jar features the iconic Kilner logo on the front - a sign of quality since 1842. NOTE: WASH BEFORE FIRST USE AND DO NOT POUR BOILING WATER DIRECTLY INTO THE JAR. About Kilner - ‘the Original and Best’ Since 1842 Founded by John Kilner in England in 1842 - and initially manufacturing a range of glass bottles and jars - the very first ‘Kilner Jar’ was invented towards the end of the 19th century. Still as successful to this day as it was when originally brought to market, the long-lasting popularity of Kilner products is due to their iconic design, distinctive pressure seal and overall quality. Trusted by households all over the world to preserve and pickle their fruit and vegetables, as well as offering the well-publicised health benefits of storing food and drink in glass rather than plastic, Kilner has become an everyday essential in the modern-day kitchen and beyond.

Well made.Perfect jar, I always have pickled eggs in the refrigerator now. Holds 7 or 8 eggs with no odors get out or in with its well sealed top.The closing mechanism can be a little tough to open and close but that simply ensures an incredibly air tight seal. Overall the product works great. Much larger than I expected based on photo but still a great product.I love the Kilner jars, although they aren't as good as the old ones. They are now made in China, which is probably why the quality went down.Love these jars. I had issues with one of the seals, but the company was willing to do whatever needed to be done to keep me happy. Customer service was awesome. I would buy again.Awesome jar I purchased for trying my hand at making black currant vodka. Perfect size and very well constructed. It should definitely serve its intended purpose. The shipping was extremely fast, and I received it on a Saturday, which surprised me. All in all, I am 100% satisfied with this purpose.I was so saddened to see the label 'made in China' on the bottom of my Kilner jar. This is my fault for not checking more thoroughly. But, the reason I bought the Kilner was that it was Irish. Something made in the British isles. "Since 1842 ...kilner.co.uk.." Nope made in China. Do yourself a favor, just buy the cheapest glass jar you can find, after all this one is just a Chinese glass jar with a Irish name on it.Heavy, well made jar.**DANGEROUS** I bought three of these for tea/Coffe/sugar. Initially very happy with the appearance of them, until I found a shard of glass in a cup of tea. I have now found that two of the jars have started to crack and shatter bits of glass under the metal clasp in to the tea and sugar. Please avoid. How do I get a refund on this rubbish?I've always trusted Kilner jars and had no hesitation in ordering this jar to keep my coffee fresh. I don't know when the problem first manifested itself, it was only when I went to clean it that I spotted the stress fracture. I can't safely keep my ground coffee in this container any longer, but thought I'd share the experience and save a few potential purchasers their money.Really disappointed in this product. Purchased for the well known name but it shattered after only 6 weeks. In these 6 weeks the jar was only used in the fridge to store a bread yeast so it wasn’t under pressure or heat treatment in this time. Seller was contacted but I was told it was out of return time despite the obvious fault.I received this item, well packaged, wrapped in bubble wrap and even with extra cardboard wedged in the open space of the box, and this is the only reason this isn't a 1 star review. When I finally unwrapped it I noticed the lid felt rough to touch as I was moving it and took a closer look to find a good inch or two of glass around the edge of the lid had been cleaved off. I imagine the jars were likely stacked up in the warehouse and someone has cracked off the edge of the lid whilst moving them. Thankfully I didn't cut myself. In the market for storage jars? Like the classic / traditional glass look? You might want to consider these...This is the Kilner Square Glass Clip Top Jar with rubber airtight seal. These are available in 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2l.We opted for the 1l jar which comes in at 15 x 10cm, made of thick glass, rubber seal and steel clasp. These are going to get more popular with zero packaging shops where you fill your own.Just remember these are glass, so be cautious of any damage, stay vigilant.I fully recommend these, as they are a good quality item that should last years. The one in my drawer at work has.
