The dress is a nice soft t-shirt like material. It fits well and has pockets.It can be dressed up a bit not definitely not cocktail wear. If you put on a sandal, heel or boot and wear a nice jewelry set it is great for dates, dinner with family, and hanging friends. I also used them for working from home so I do not have to get dressed up but still get dressed.It can be dressed down with flat sandals or sneakers to run errands. I have done that as well.If you have a bit of "junk in your trunk" like me it is a little shorter in the back if wearing out. But nothing a quick pair of bike shorts or even boy shorts can't fix. I chanced it and went out without shorts and was just careful not to bend over.Also, it has nice little tapering at the waist so it is NOT boxy at all. If you are shapely it will show it.I ordered 3X in Black (and a few other colors, red, lake blue, deep purple) all the colors I ordered are nice and vibrant. It is true to size I think.My stats: 5'5, 280 lbs., 44H, I mainly wear 22-24 in plus size clothes.I have bought at least ten dresses, probably six this brand. This is by far my favorite. It is stretchy, not baggy. It is soft and silky. The fabric does not pill. I am 5ft 230pounds and this fits me perfectly. I do wish it were five inches longer. It hangs down to just under my knees, but I'm not ladylike need the extra length for coverage if I am lifting things. (bending over) This is a great dress to wear over jeans, shorts, yoga shorts or leggings. It is perfect for just hanging around the house. I have a two-year-old dress that is as good a shape as the day I bought it. I will definitely buy more of these.I really like my clothes loss & comfortable. This dress is both. It's a very simple A line dress made from stretchy fabric. It's a very good summer dress . Easy to wear & it comes up to the middle of my knee, perfect. In 2 mo. I'm having weight loss,surgery so trying not to buy many clothes at this point.I kept it, but I haven’t worn it. I should have gotten a large. I need to wear a cardigan because the material is thinner than I should wear. It’s a little shorter than I like. I’m 5’2” so lots a short dresses hit me closer to my knee.I just wanted something comfortable to throw on in the morning. It feels wonderful!!! I'm thrilled I bought several colors. They wash and dry beautifully!!Purchased for ease of care for a month travel out of carryon suitcase only. Easy wash, air dry fast and cool for hot days in Rome.I love it. Super soft and great pockets. Buying another color.Cute and well made. Very soft fabric and cool. Has not shrunk or faded through several washes and is a good thickness.
